These are very comfortable but they are not waterproof in any way, shape or form. If you want to spend your hike dodging all of the puddles and turning back at the site of a small stream, then these boots are for you! I walked through a puddle and took on ICY cold water. Had to turn back. Thanks Merrell. I've had the boots for 5 months, barely used.
